I’m happy – Ronaldo on breaking Messi’s record

Date:

Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has admitted that he was happy to beat Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain shirt sales when he returned to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo said this in the first segment of his extraordinary TalkTV interview with Piers Morgan aired on Wednesday night.

During the programme, Piers told Ronaldo: “Two things happened within 24 hours of you re-signing for [Manchester] United.

“One, you broke the all-time record for shirt sales in 24 hours… you actually beat a guy called Messi, you must have been happy about that?”

Ronaldo replied: “Of course, I’m happy [laughs].

“As you know, I don’t follow the records, the records follow me. Another one in my book.”
