International Friendly: Nigeria Prepare To Face Costa Rica, Head To San Jose November 3

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have begun preparations for an international friendly game with their Costa Rica counterpart.

The match which is scheduled for November 10, 2022 at San Jose will be the first ever between both countries.

The friendly will serve as a tune up game to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, for the Central American team.

Coach Salisu Yusuf, who is also in charge of Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles participating in the qualifying rounds of next year’s African U23 Cup of Nations, retained some of his players involved in the 3-1 aggregate win over Tanzania’s U23 team.

He is taking charge of the game.

*Heritage Times HT* reports that some foreign-based players will join the squad to bolster the Super Eagles contingent for the San Jose friendly.

Mostly, available home-based players are already training and will take off to San Jose with coaching crew on Thursday November 3.

Nigeria will also face Portugal later in November before the European giants head to World Cup venue in Qatar.

Super Eagles failed to qualify for this year’s mundial.
