Iwobi scores to deny Ndidi and Foxes maximum points as relegation battle hots-up

Nigerian Midfielder Alex Iwobi scored a 55th minute equalizer to help Everton earn a 2-2 draw vs Leicester City who listed Wilfred Ndidi in action on Monday night.

Everton drew first blood through a Calvert Dominic-Lewin penalty kick in the 16th minute.

Defender Soyuncu fired Leicester City level in the 22nd minute before Englishman Jamie Vardy gave the Foxes a deserved lead 10 minutes later.

Alex Iwobi was in guilty of a sloppy pass in midfield which was picked up by Youri Tielemens who launched a counter-attack. Jamie Vardy was teed up with a through pass and rounded goalkeeper Pickford to slot the ball into an empty net for 2-1.

Maddison had a spot-kick saved by Jordan Pickford just before the half-time break at the King Power on Monday night.

In the 55th minute, Iwobi powered the Toffees level and that was enough to force a draw as relegation battle hots-up in the English Premier League.

Ndidi was substituted in the 66th minute by Foxes manager Dean Smith for Patson Daka while Iwobi lasted the entire game.

With the result, Leicester City move out of the drop zone to 16th place on 30-points while Everton remain in 19th points with 29-points with four games to the end of the 2022/2023 season.
