Former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has vowed to dismantle Jake Paul when both fighters meet on December 19 at the Kaseya Centre in Miami.

Joshua, the overwhelming favourite for the eight‑round Netflix bout, said he intends to dominate from the opening bell.

“I’m going to break his face, break his body. I’m going to stomp all over him—that’s my fighter’s mentality,” he said at a press conference. “I’ll come forward, impose myself, land heavy shots and show him things he hasn’t seen. I’m taking him to a different school of boxing.”

He, however, credited Paul’s discipline and improvement in recent years.
“I see talent and focus. He works hard and has a solid team. Nothing negative. I take him seriously. His mentality is strong,” Joshua noted.

Joshua enters the contest with a 28-4 record, including 25 knockouts. The Briton has gone 6-4 since 2019 and has not fought since suffering a fifth‑round stoppage to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

Paul, meanwhile, comes into the bout with a 12-1 record and seven knockouts.

Joshua is expected to return to the ring in February, with a potential showdown against Tyson Fury later in the year if he overcomes Paul.

“It’s a great opportunity to reassert myself as a dominant force. I’m hungry, devoted and dedicated,” Joshua added.
