Super Eagles strikers Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu have cemented their place among football’s elite in aerial ability, ranking highly in records for both highest jumps and bicycle kicks.
Osimhen currently holds fifth position in football’s highest jump rankings, with a remarkable 2.58-metre leap during Napoli’s 3-0 win over Spezia in February 2023. The Napoli striker soared above goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski in the 68th minute to double his side’s lead at the Stadio Alberto Picco.
His aerial prowess allows him to dominate in the air, connecting with crosses and influencing matches significantly. Osimhen has continued his rich form this season, scoring nine goals in 12 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.

Cristiano Ronaldo tops the all-time highest jump chart with a 2.93-metre leap for Real Madrid against Manchester United in a UEFA Champions League round-of-16 match in February 2013. Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri follows with 2.78 metres for a header against Portugal in the 2022 World Cup quarterfinal, while Uganda’s Bevis Mugabi (2.62 metres) and England’s Fikayo Tomori (2.61 metres) round out the top five.
In bicycle kick rankings, Onuachu ranks second with a 2.41-metre strike against Fatih Karagumruk in the Turkish Super Lig last year, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s previous 2.38-metre mark.
Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay now leads with a 2.53-metre overhead kick for Scotland in a World Cup qualifying win over Denmark on November 18. Standing at 1.91 metres, McTominay generated an additional 0.62 metres in his jump to reach the height required for the spectacular strike from a Ben Gannon-Doak cross.
With McTominay and Onuachu ahead, Ronaldo now ranks third in the bicycle kick standings. Onuachu has maintained consistent form for Trabzonspor this season, netting nine goals and providing one assist in 13 league games.
Both Osimhen and Onuachu continue to highlight Nigeria’s strength in producing forwards capable of extraordinary athletic feats on the global stage.
