Former Nigeria international, Benedict Akwuegbu has said that Ladan Bosso’s Flying Eagles are capable of winning the FIFA U20 World Cup if few better players are injected into the team.

The silver medallist in 2000 African Nations Cup co-hosted by Nigeria and Ghana in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports praised Bosso and his boys for picking the World Cup ticket as well winning the bronze medal in the just concluded 2023 CAF U20 African Nations Cup in Egypt.

“I think Ladan Bosso did a wonderful job and the boys play so well. At least we came third, won the bronze medal and also picked the world Cup ticket. He told BSN Sports.

“I will advise him to keep the same team and just try to strengthen the team more. With that, we have a team to win the world Cup.” He concluded.

The seven times U20 African Nations Cup champions lost to Gambia in the semifinals but came back stronger to beat Tunisia 4-0 to win bronze medal.

Nigeria, Tunisia, Gambia and champions, Senegal will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia slated to hold in May.
