Day 2 of the Lagos Queens Cup 2026 commenced early at the Legacy Pitch in Surulere, featuring a closely contested match between CATS Ladies and Dannaz Ladies, which ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
The second match was filled with excitement as the hosts, Ayisat Yusuf FA, triumphed over Asisat Oshoala Academy with a score of 3-1. Olanrewaju Olamide Kaosarat opened the scoring for AYFA in the 14th minute, but Temilola Kashimawo leveled the match in the 30th minute with an impressive solo effort. AYFA quickly regained the lead when Esther Moses capitalized on a defensive error to score in the 34th minute, and Racheal Falunyi’s own goal in the 55th minute confirmed a 3-1 victory for AYFA.

FC Robo Queens secured their second consecutive win with a 2-0 triumph over Dreamstar Ladies. Esther Onyenezide netted her fourth goal of the tournament in the 20th minute with a skillful lob, followed by Faith Emmanuel extending the lead in the 49th minute with a powerful volley from outside the penalty area.

The final match concluded with a 1-1 draw between Nakamura FA and Victory Queens. Nakamura took an early advantage in the 4th minute when Mukan Joseph scored with a header from a cross by Ejide Alimi, marking their first goal of the tournament. Ayomide Taiwo equalized for Victory Queens in the 19th minute with a well-executed lob over the goalkeeper.

Day 2 also showcased a strong presence of scouts, including Faith Ikidi-Michael, Maiju Ruotsalainen, Marko Saranlinna, and James Burgin, who were there to observe the players. The tournament is supported by its partners: Lagos State Football Association, 36 Lion Investment, Herizon Sports Initiative, Ayisat Yusuf Football Foundation, Diego Nakamura, Ivory Health Club, and Africa Football Empowerment Congress, all dedicated to enhancing opportunities for women’s football in Nigeria.
With two matchdays completed, the Lagos Queens Cup continues at the Legacy Pitch, with additional matches scheduled daily from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday. As the competition advances, players are eager to impress international scouts and pursue professional opportunities abroad.
