Prince GAS U15 tourney enter round 16

The ongoing 13th edition of Prince GAS U15 Football Tournament has entered the Knockout stage (Round 16) as the boys have been separated from the big boys.

The Round 16 matches will begin Sunday, July 12, 2006 with two games, while another two matches will also be played Friday, July 17, before the last fixtures of four matches will be held July 19.

The first match up will see Smart Strikers face Kasali Kudus in an expected tough duel. Rising Stars will clash with Future Heroes in the last fixture for Sunday.

When hostilities resume Friday, Young Stars will confront Heart of Lions for a place in the last eight, while Young Tigers will battle Future Stars.

In the final round of matches on Sunday, Sharp Strikers FC will lock horns with Future Accurate FC in the opening fixture, while Bucknor FC will line up against SA Dynamous. Stowe FC and Ashton FC will try each other for size while Fortune FC tangos White Soccer Academy.

Meanwhile, the battle for the Highest goal scorer is gathering momentum with Chinedu Eze of Sharp Strikers FC and Tosin Owolabi of Smart Strikers both tied on 5goals apiece. Although, Eze is leading the goal rush having reached the number first.

Hotly on their chase is Temilola Peter of Ashton FC and Olarewaju Quayum of Super Accurate FC both also share 4goals each. There’s a trio with 3goals each while the rest of the chasing pack all have 2goals each.

Organisers say all rules are to apply including the new FIFA rules.
