The Lagos State Sports Commission’s strategy session, held at the Archery Range, Teslim Balogun Stadium today, drew strong remarks on the extraordinary trajectory of sports development in the state. Hon Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports, attended the periodic session as a stakeholder and delivered significant commendation. He lauded the sustained commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu towards sports infrastructure and programmes that support young athletes across the state. He noted that these actions have given Lagos a stronger base for participation, talent nurturing and long-term development.

The SSA also acknowledged the palpable shift in momentum and the notable progress achieved by the Commission since the assumption of Mr Lekan Fatodu as Director General of the Commission, stating that the drive and clear direction of the Commission under Fatodu’s leadership have led to visible progress across multiple sports. He pointed to the improved coordination of activities, renewed engagement with stakeholders, sharpened focus on grassroots sports development and recurring excellent podium finishes at national and international events. He urged the Commission to sustain the pace and deepen its approach as Lagos pushes for stronger outcomes in local, national and international competitions. @lf_champ
