Former Super Eagles winger, John Utaka along with former players of Montpellier like Carlos Valderrama, Julio César, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Vitorino Hilton, Souleymane Camara, and a host of others, will this Saturday converge on Stade de la Mosson to commemorate the club’s 50th anniversary.
Utaka spent over two seasons at Montpellier between January 2011 and July 2013 and helped the club to win the French Ligue One in 2012.
“On Saturday, November 16 at 3 p.m. at the Stade de La Mosson, the MHSC invites you to celebrate its 50th anniversary with the Gala match,” the club wrote on their website. “On the program of festivities: the former glories of La Paillade accompanied by the 2012 Champions against the former French internationals of the CIF.
“A meeting between nostalgia and emotions that we wish to share with you. Because the club’s 50th anniversary is also that of its supporters, subscribers, official members and 24/25 L (renowned warriors) Loulous are invited to the meeting (see terms of withdrawal of invitations below). Tickets are also on sale at the single price of €5.
“We look forward to seeing many of you come together to celebrate this half-century of history around those who wrote it.
