Despite the Super Eaglesโ challenging position in their quest for a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Liwa FC Director Abu Dhabi Mohammed has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to improve their preparations ahead of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, which begin this weekend in Uyo against the Republic of Benin.
Speaking in Abuja over the weekend, Mustapha described the Super Eaglesโ current situation in FIFA World Cup 2026 Group Cโwhere they sit fifth with just three points from their first four matchesโas โugly and pathetic.โ He emphasized the need for a concerted effort to ensure Nigeria qualifies for both the upcoming AFCON and the World Cup.
โThey (NFF)ย should sort things out, because this is Nigeria and we are not talking anything less than qualifying for both the Nations Cup and the World Cup,โ Mustapha,ย a FIFA-license Intermediary, said.
Meanwhile, Mustaphaย has canvassedย for meaningful engagement of youthsย in order to shun crime and vices hence his recourse to empower at least 2000 youthsย with theย Federal Capitalย Territoryย and its environs by providing them with skills that can help them to beย gainfully employed.
He said: โIn this country, we donโt have to leave everything to government alone, we the youth we need to stand up.
โSo, I got motivated and I said as a sports person, if I can start up something like this, Iโm also contributing my own quota to the development of youth in the country.โ
