Neymar Targets World Cup Success With Brazil

Paris Saint-Germain winger, Neymar Jr wants to lead the Selecao of Brazil to victory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Selecao last won the global soccer fiesta in 2002

In an interview with Esquire, Neymar said he has wished to win the FIFA World Cup since he was a kid.

“It has been my dream since I was a kid to win the World Cup,” Neymar said.

“I have imagined myself holding that trophy and I’ve got another opportunity coming up to try and do it in Qatar. I hope I will be smiling at the end.”

Neymar has scored 75 goals in 121 games for Brazil. The 30 year old has scored 15 goals and recorded 12 assists in 19 games across all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain this season.

Brazil are in Group G with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.

The Selecao have won five FIFA World Cups; Sweden 1958, Chile 1962, Mexico ’70, USA ’94 and Korea/Japan 2002.
