The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been directed by FIFA to pay former Super Eagles gatteri, Gernot Rohr his compensation fee of $378,000 (about N157million) following the early termination of his contract.

The Franco-German manager was sacked by the NFF last December due to a poor outing of the Super Eagles during the AFCON qualifiers which saw the 68-year old dismissed with just four weeks before the Nations Cup.

The initial agreement between the NFF and Rohr was to pay his salary until the end of his contract, which would expire in December 2022.

After his sack, Rohr then went to the football’s world governing body to report a breach of contract by the Nigerian football body without a just cause.

FIFA in its ruling added that the NFF would be sanctioned if Rohr is not paid in full within 45 days.

“If full payment (including all applicable interest) is not made within 45 days of notification of this decision, the respondent [the NFF] shall be imposed a restriction on receiving a percentage of development funding, up until the due amounts are paid,” the body said.
