NFF To Hold Emergency Congress In Edo on Sunday, Set To Amend Statutes

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has announced August 8th, 2021 as the date for its Exra-Ordinary General Congress, SportsDay reports.

The congress which coincides with the final of the 2021 Aiteo Cup will hold in Edo State with agenda centered on the amendment of the federation’s statutes and other matters concerned the growth and development of Football in the Country

In a press  release dated July 29, 2021 signed by the NFF Secretary General, Dr Ibrahim Sanusi addressed to “All delegates, State Football Association, referees, leagues, coaches, and players union,” is scheduled to commence by 10 am prompt, listed “amendment of the 2010 NFF Statutes”.

Meanwhile Nasarawa United will face Bayelsa United in the Aiteo Cup final.

The amendment of the 2010 Statutes is coming on the heal of pressure mounted by the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria, PFAN on the need to amend the rules as the 2022 elections into the executive board of the NFF approaches.
