Ngige joins APC caucus meeting after Kuje release

Former Anambra State Governor and Senator, Chris Ngige, on Thursday attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting at the Presidential Villa, hours after regaining freedom from the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Ngige, who also served as Minister of Labour and Employment, had been remanded by a court following corruption allegations brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He was granted bail earlier in the day and met the bail conditions, paving the way for his release.

The former governor arrived at the State House Conference Centre after President Bola Tinubu had taken his seat. He was briefly delayed at the entrance by security operatives before being cleared to proceed into the meeting.

His appearance drew cheers from some presidential aides and party officials present at the venue.
