APC caucus meeting: Six former PDP governors join party leaders at Villa

Six governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) are among governors and party leaders attending the ruling party’s caucus meeting at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

The governors, attending their first APC caucus meeting, are Sim Fubara (Rivers), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Pastor Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom) and Agbu Kefas (Taraba).

Also in attendance are former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa; former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim; and former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, all erstwhile PDP leaders.

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima; President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau; and Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, are also present.

Serving and former APC governors, as well as members of the party’s National Working Committee, are attending the meeting.

The caucus session is being observed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived at the venue at 7:38 p.m.
