Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide paid tribute to the late Liverpool striker Diogo Jota by replicating his iconic goal celebration during Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Tunisia at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco yesterday.
The football world has been in mourning since Thursday after the tragic death of Portuguese star Jota, who was killed in a car crash in Spain at the age of 28.
His younger brother, André Silva — also a professional footballer — also lost his life in the accident at just 25.

Jota married his long-term partner, Rute Cardoso, with whom he has three children, less than two weeks before the crash.
Babajide who now Plies her trade for UD Tenerife in Spain was a player of Liverpool between 2017-18 and 2020-21 from where she joined Brighton and Hove.
