Crystal Palace midfielder, Eberechi Eze is back on Gareth Southgate’s radar, according to the Daily Mail.
But the England national team boss will face competition from Nigeria over the player.
Eze has played a crucial role in Palace’s resurgence under Roy Hodgson.
The 24-year-old has scored six goals in seven matches, as the South London club has fought off the threat of relegation.
His performances have not gone unnoticed by Southgate, who believes Eze has the makings of a full England international.
It remains to be seen whether Eze could be called up for next month’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.
England’s interest in Eze, however, is complicated by Nigeria, who also have designs on securing his future.
The Super Eagles have tried several times in the past to convince Eze to play for them. But the player is still to make a final decision.
Eze is eligible for Nigeria through his parents. Nigeria’s interest in Eze is ongoing, a prospect England staff are aware of.
