Why I take periodic breaks from Nollywood – Omotola Jalade

Date:

Renowned Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has shared that she intentionally takes breaks to relax, reflect, and recharge after extended periods of work.

The 46-year-old star addressed her occasional hiatuses from Nollywood in a recent social media post, explaining that these breaks are a way to manage her well-being and clear up fans’ curiosity about her intermittent absences from the film industry.

“I know many don’t understand why I step away from movies for a few years and then come back again!” Omotola wrote.

“I’ve seen fans asking when I’ll return to the screen, but when you’ve been working since 15 like I have… you’ll understand the need to relax, relive, relearn, and recharge. Who gets it and who’s following?”

The award-winning film star made her Nollywood debut as the leading actress in ‘Venom of Justice’ in 1995, she was just 15 at the time.
