Nigeria Women Basketball League Qualifiers Begin in Benin… Alli Assures Of Hitch-Free Contest

The Chairman of Edo State Sports Commission, Olympian Yusuf Alli has assured teams participating in the Nigeria Women Basketball League playoffs in Benin of a hitch-free contest and good hospitality while their stay in Benin lasts.

The Edo sports commission boss gave the assurance today in Benin, maintaining that Edo, is known for hospitality and culture. He added that the teams will enjoy playing at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium

The beautiful and world-class Basketball Court at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin will be appreciated and be in use by the Nigeria Basketball Federation as the Nigeria Women Basketball League Qualifiers commence tomorrow.

According to the schedules of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, the remodeled Samuel Ogbemudia stadium will be hosting the Atlantic Conference between June 1 and June 11, 2023, while Zaria, Kaduna state will be hosting the Savannah Conference between June 7 and 17,2023.

Some of the participating teams have started arriving at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City ahead of June 1st arrival date.

Among the early birds seen at the host venue, Samuel Ogbemudia stadium today include IGP queens,
The first bank, Raptors of Lagos.

Binin Queens will also be slugging it out for honors in the Atlantic Conference which has 16 teams.

The Savannah Conference made up of 18 teams in the Women’s Basketball League playoffs is scheduled to begin on June 7 and end on June 17 in Zaria.
