Nigerian Forward Lawal Shines in Turkish Women’s Super League

Nigerian footballer Taiwo Lawal has been making waves in the Turkish Women’s Football Super League with her exceptional performance for Atasehir Belediyespor. The talented forward, who joined the Turkish club from FC Robo Queens last September, has been in superb form, netting an impressive 14 goals since her arrival.

Lawal’s journey to Atasehir Belediyespor began after her successful stint with FC Robo Queens, a Lagos-based team renowned for producing top talents such as six-times African Women’s Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade amongst others.

Having represented Nigeria at the youth level, featuring for both the U-17 and U-20 national teams, Lawal now has her sights set on earning her maiden call-up to the senior national team, the Super Falcons.

Expressing her delight at her current form, Lawal said, “I am happy with my form. It’s been a rewarding journey since joining this team from FC Robo Queens. Scoring 14 goals since September when I first joined up with this club is a testament to the hard work and dedication that I have put into my game.”

She added, “Representing Nigeria at the youth levels with the U-17 and U-20 has been an honor. I am now eager for the opportunity to earn my maiden Super Falcons call-up, and I believe with my form so far with Atasehir Belediyespor, I deserve to be given a look in. I won’t rest on my laurels and will continue to push myself to achieve even greater feats.”

Remix Sports Management, the agency instrumental in Lawal’s transfer from Nigeria to Turkey, also expressed their delight at the player’s remarkable feat.
