Nnamdi Prosper makes Baylor University history, retains Big 12 Javelin title

Nigeria’s Javelin throw record holder (81.22m), Nnamdi Proper has successfully defended the Big 12 Championships title he won last year with a 74.40m throw.

The 20 year old made history in the process as the first Baylor University student to successfully defend a Javelin title in the history of the competition.

Nnamdi won the title with his first throw of the competition and was the only athlete to hit the 70m+ mark.

In his debut in the competition last year, Nnamdi threw 77.98m to win in Lubbock, Texas.

The Nigerian moved from Lubbock to Fayetteville, Arkansas 12 days later to break the Nigerian javelin record with a commanding 81.22m throw at the NCAA West Preliminary Round.
