Veteran actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has voiced concerns over the lack of structure in the Nigerian film industry, especially when it comes to residual payments.
Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Omotola compared her experiences in Nollywood and Hollywood, revealing that despite a 30-year career and over 310 projects in Nollywood, she has never received any residuals.
In contrast, after just four years in Hollywood and completing two test projects, she started receiving monthly residuals.
She wrote: “Just 4 years in Hollywood. 2 test projects — monthly residuals.
30 years in Nollywood. 310+ projects — no residuals. Nollywood needs structure.”
