NPFL: Eguma Explains Reason Behind Rivers United Defeat To Lobi Stars

The technical adviser of Rivers United Stanley Eguma has explained the reason they lost to Lobi Stars in their rescheduled game.

The Nigerian champions suffered a 3-2 defeat to Lobi Stars at the New Jos Stadium on Wednesday in match day 11.

While speaking on the game, Eguma said they lost due to some tactical errors in the backline.

“We lost the game due to some tactical mistake in our defence, it was a balanced game even though we had some cards, 5 yellow, and one red.

I’m not the one to judge the referee, the league is still on and it’s an abridged league after which teams will qualify to go for Super 6 and we are still on course for a position in the Super 6, we’ve not lost sight and focus.

We are the defending champions and I believe that at the end of the day, we will be able to come out as one of the candidates to play in the Super 6 and that is our target.

We lost today, all we need to do is to go back and put our acts together and make sure we come out better in the remaining games”, he said.
