NPFL signs partnership deal with LaLiga club, Sevilla

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced a new partnership with Spanish club Sevilla FC. NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye formalized the agreement during a recent visit to Sevilla’s facilities in Spain.

This collaboration aims to advance sporting and developmental strategies, with a particular focus on coach training and nurturing young Nigerian talent. The partnership will provide NPFL clubs with expert advice and resources to enhance their youth academies.

“We have 20 clubs in the Nigerian Premier League, each with its own youth academy,” Elegbeleye noted. “Sevilla FC’s impressive history and track record in Spain and Europe make it an ideal partner. Their development strategy and youth programs offer significant benefits to Nigerian football.”

Under the agreement, top players from Nigeria’s Youth League will have the opportunity to train at Sevilla FC each season.

The training and expertise gained from this experience are expected to elevate their skills upon their return.

Additionally, the deal includes a training program for NPFL coaches, aimed at improving their skills and contributing to overall league development. “This partnership represents a win-win for everyone involved in the NPFL,” Elegbeleye added.
