NPFL: ‘WE CAN BRIDGE THE GAP AT THE TOP– Mbwas Mangut

Date:

After a near-perfect performance on the road and a home form that saw it drop ten points at the end of the first stanza of the 2021/2022 NPFL season, chief coach of Rangers International F.C, Mbwas Mangut has assured the team’s supporters that the ‘Flying Antelopes’ has all it takes to bridge the gap at the top of the log.

Mangut, while speaking after watching his wards dispatch an Enugu state league side, M.T.A, F.C 5-0, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, said that despite the fact that Rivers United and Plateau United were on top of his team by as much as eight and seven points, Rangers will stand to be counted at the end of the season.

With 34 points after nineteen rounds of matches scoring twenty-five goals and conceding 10 goals, Rangers International F.C is placed third on the twenty-team log behind Rivers United on 42 points and Plateau United on 41 points but coach Mangut is optimistic of a top-two finish to the season.

“Catching up with the pacesetters in the league is just a matter of winning two or three matches and being consistent with results in our matches as the second round begins this weekend. Recall that at some point during the season, Plateau United was twelve points adrift of the top placed teams but a series of a good run-of-form gave them the position they presently occupy and we can do the same because we have the quality to deliver,” stated coach Mangut.

He further stated, “I believe that with the fine form the team has found itself, we are poised to pick one of the continental tickets for next season. The players are physically and psychologically ready to give their all in the second round to ensure we get the expected result from all our matches both at home and away.”

Rangers will this weekend, engage Lobi Stars F.C in a matchday 20, NPFL 2021/2022 with a new management and coaching crew in place with the return of Dominic Iorfa as C.E.O and coach Mohammed Baba Ganaru as technical adviser.
