In form Telecom SC of Egypt striker, Okechukwu Nwanna has continued his scoring spree with his goal number six for his modest Egyptian Division 2A league side on Tuesday.
Nwanna found the back of the net, for the second goal in an Egyptian Cup encounter against Pharco in the Round of 16 game, which they won 2-1.
The goal by the bullish forward and former FC Bethel Sporting of Lagos player secured victory for Coach Aliyu Zubair’s side which made history by qualfiying the team to their first-ever quarter-final appearance in the Egyptian Cup.
The new ‘giant killers’ of Egyptian football, Telecom, had earlier knocked out Egyptian giants, Al Ahly in the round of 32 to announce their emergence.

Telecom SC took the lead in the 17th minute through Eid Ahmed, whose well-taken strike rewarded the team’s early dominance in the epic encounter.
Nwanna put a perfect icing on the cake when he doubled their lead in the 46th minute to put Telecom firmly in control in the match, before Karim El Tayeb responded with a goal back for Pharco in the 54th minute, but Telecom held on till the end to see off their more illustrious opponents.
“It was a difficult game but we thank God for the victory, said Nwanna.
“The feeling is always great to score for a striker, which I’m very excited that I scored to help my team qualify for the next round.
“Our dream is to go all the way to the final and possibly win the cup”, he noted.
