Asisat Oshoala was on the scoresheet for FC Barcelona Femeni as they blew Villarreal away 5-0 in their league clash at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. The Super Falcons star took her tally for the season to 19 goals in 19 league appearances.
After seeing international teammate Rasheedat Ajibade inspire Atletico Madrid Femenino to a win over Real Sociedad yesterday, Oshoala took it upon herself to open the scoring for her side in their home league match. The pacey striker was on hand to tap home a header from Claudia Pina from close range after only 21 minutes.
Spanish youngster Salma Paralluelo doubled the side’s advantage after 38 minutes to send them into the break in possession of a comfortable two-goal cushion.
Oshoala was withdrawn after 66 minutes, with Caroline Graham Hansen taking her place on the pitch. The Norwegian forward was making her first appearance since suffering an injury but managed to leave her mark on the match, scoring a hat-trick. The 27-year-old scored in the 70th, 85th and 90th minutes to extend their 100% record in the league and give them a five-point cushion over second-place Real Madrid.
Oshoala has scored 19 times this season and tops the goalscoring charts. The Nigerian star is only one goal from equalling her best goalscoring tally in Spain of 20 goals, which she scored last season.
