Osimhen rated better than Benzema, Giroud

Legendary Italian striker Filippo Inzaghi said Victor Osimhen is the best, beyond Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud.

The Nigeria international has established himself as one of the best strikers in Italian Serie A with his exploits for SSC Napoli.

Inzaghi, who achieved legendary status at AC Milan and Juventus FC as a lethal striker, opined that Osimhen’s qualities are second to none and that he is better than Ballon d’Or winner Benzema of Real Madrid and Milan’s Giroud.

“If we think of Napoli, Osimhen is a true centre-forward,” Inzaghi said as quoted by TuttoNapoli. “He attacks deep, and keeps the ball; Osimhen is probably the best right now, beyond Benzema, who, however, is less of an area centre forward, and perhaps better than Giroud.”

Osimhen has netted 10 goals from 14 matches across all competitions for Napoli this term while providing two assists in the process.

The 23-year-old is also placed at the top of 2023 AFCON qualifiers scoring charts with five goals for Nigeria.
