Premier League pundit Michael Owen believes Manchester United have lost probably the best player they should have on the pitch when they play Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Emirates stadium on Sunday.
The Brazilain was yellow carded for his fifth yellow card in 19 Premier League games for the Red Devils who were forced to a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night.
“Casemiro will be a massive loss for the Arsenal game. You’d get away with it in certain games but, when you play against the big boys, you need to have all your best players ready to go. They all knew it, you could see their reaction – that last ten minutes was a nightmare for United. They lose one of their best players and a goal, a disastrous ten minutes,’ Owen said after the game.
Owen’s sentiment was shared by another Premier League pundit Matt Holland.
“What a finish to the game! It’s a bad night for Manchester United – they came here for three points and to keep Casemiro for the Arsenal game on Sunday. They’ve left with neither.”
Holland is however full of praise for Michael Olise who scored the back-breaking equaliser in added time.
“It’s a moment of genuine quality from Olise. Palace have been much better in the second half, forced United on to the back foot but they haven’t really created very much and it’s taken something truly special to beat David De Gea. It’s a phenomenal free-kick.”
