Paris 2024: Canada friendly good test for Super Falcons, says Waldrum

Randy Waldrum, head coach of the Super Falcons, anticipates that the upcoming friendly against Canada will significantly bolster his team’s preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games.

The match against the current Olympics champions is scheduled to take place in Sevilla, Spain on Wednesday.

Expressing his outlook on the upcoming challenge, the American coach emphasized the importance of facing tough opposition from North America.

“We are expecting a great game. The players have put in tremendous effort, although some joined the camp a bit late, the overall level has been very high,” Waldrum remarked on the Super Falcons Show.

He added, “The players are focused and eager for the Olympics. This friendly will allow us to refine several aspects we’ve been practicing in training.

It’s also an opportunity to evaluate certain players and identify the best combinations ahead of our opening match against Brazil.”

Waldrum conveyed his confidence in the team’s readiness, noting their readiness to compete against formidable opponents. “Everyone is geared up.

The players are eager to face a quality team after training against each other. We are all looking forward to the Canada game,” he concluded.
