Paris Games: Reps Supports Nigerian Athletes with ₦100M

The Federal House of Representatives has approved a ₦100 million support package for Nigerian athletes, demonstrating the legislature’s commitment to boosting the country’s sports development drive, led by Senator John Owan Enoh.

This significant gesture aims to motivate and empower Nigerian athletes to excel in international competitions, promoting national pride and unity.

“We recognize the importance of sports in nation-building and the potential of our athletes to bring glory to our great nation. This support is a token of our appreciation for their dedication and hard work,” said House Speaker Tajudden Abbas.

This funding will be channeled through the Federal Ministry of Sports Development to support athletes’ training, equipment, and competition expenses.

Sports Minister, Senator John Owan Enoh, expressed his gratitude for the support, stating, “I thank the hallowed chamber for their patriotism. The approved funds will be utilized to enhance the preparation and performance of athletes, ensuring they have the necessary resources to compete at the highest levels. This initiative reflects the government’s dedication to supporting sports and recognizing the hard work and dedication of Nigerian athletes.

“We are committed to providing our athletes with the best possible support to help them succeed,” added Minister Enoh.

“This funding will significantly impact their training and preparation, enabling them to achieve greater heights in their respective sports.”
