Pele hospitalised for cardiac problem

Brazil football legend Pele has been rushed to hospital in Sao Paulo over cardiac-related complications, Daily Mail reported.

The health of the legendary star has reportedly deteriorated after he was hospitalized for swollen body.

Pele, 82, who is currently undergoing treatment for metastatic cancer, went into the Albert Einstein hospital on Tuesday in an unscheduled visit, taken there by his wife Marcia Aokoi.

Reports have it that, medical staff at the hospital confirmed his condition of general swelling, medically referred to as anasarca.

It was also gathered that the chemotherapy treatment for his cancer is no longer working, while he was also diagnosed with mental confusion upon entering the hospital, where he was restless as he is set to undergo several tests today to further assess his condition.

It is an extremely worrying time for the medical staff, Pele’s family as well as the footballing population of Brazil with a particular worry over how his cancer treatment is not working.

It was not clear when the legend will leave the hospital, as he is struggling to eat.
