Peseiro defends Super Eagles players amid hints changes to come

Jose Peseiro has stated the Super Eagles will revisit aspects of the match against Guinea-Bissau to ascertain where improvements must be made, suggesting they could be changes to the starting XI for the second-leg.

Peseiro made the revelation during his post-match Presser, where he described the 1-0 as unfortunate, but insists the performance of his players in Abuja is certain to secure all three points on any other day.

“We started well in the first 20minutes, and the one chance they had they scored. We had chances but sometimes the best teams can lose 1-0, everything was bad for us today.

“Surely, what we need now is to improve our game, there are points we need to improve.

“But, I must state clearly that, If we repeat the performance from that game, we’d beat them 3-nil.

“It’s not possible, no team can have such bad luck every time. Remember against Sierra Leone we had half chances and converted them. So with this game we’re confident.”
