Ahead of the much talked about World Cup play-off final between Nigeria and Ghana tomorrow at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Ghana President Akufo-Addo has sent ginger to the Black Stars even as wished the team the best of luck.
The President who opined that the Black Stars gave a good account of themselves despite failing to win in front of massive home support at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday remains optimistic that the team still stands a chance.
While addressing the Nation in the 28th National update or what could pass for the state of the nation address, the President touched on issues of national importance including how the former Gold Coast dealt with Covid-19 that held the world to the jugular among other things.
He Concluded his speech by giving the Black Stars a pat on the back for their performance in the first leg and wished them the best in the second leg at the MKO Abiola Stadium.
“I wish the Black Stars, who gave a good account of themselves in Kumasi, the best of luck in Abuja on Tuesday,” he said.
Meanwhile all is now set for the showdown that will determine who between Ghana and Nigeria gets a ticket to the world cup in Qatar come November.
The Eagles who some say have an edge having survived the first leg have been burning the calories in Abuja ahead of the encounter. The Black Stars who are already in Abuja for the clash will be training at the Abuja stadium at 17.00 hours or 5pm local time.
