Qatar 2022: Paul Pogba gives Griezmann new name after France 2-0 win over Morocco

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has compared Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann to Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

The France star produced another stellar display for Les Bleus in Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final win over Morocco.

France became the first nation since Brazil in 1962 to reach the World Cup finals back-to-back after overpowering Morocco 2-0 at the Al Bayt Stadium.

The French goals came through the boots of Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani.

Pogba and Kante missed the tournament due to injury, and Griezmann was drafted to the right side of Didier Deschamps’ midfield three.

He is allowed to get forward and create, and he has laid on the most chances of any player in Qatar.

After Wednesday’s victory, Pogba wrote on Instagram, “It’s near.”

The former Manchester United star went ahead to tag Griezmann and dubbed him ‘Griezmannkante’ alongside a thinking-face emoji.
