Marcus Rashford has responded to Paris Saint-Germain after the French club launched a move for the Manchester United striker.

PSG have held talks with Rashford’s representatives and want to bring the 24-year-old England international to the Parc des Princes this summer.

Rashford, who has scored 93 goals in 304 games for United, only has one year remaining on his current deal.

Rashford has helped United win the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League since he made his debut in 2015, having progressed through the club’s youth ranks.

PSG are strongly interested in signing Rashford, but the Daily Mail are now reporting that Rashford has responded to their approach by saying that he is happy at Old Trafford and that his priority is to stay at the club.

The same report also claims that United are relaxed over the situation – despite the fact that Rashford’s contract is set to end on June 30, 2023 – with the club able to trigger an additional one-year extension due to a clause in his deal.

French champions PSG have Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in their attack but are still keen to bolster their front-line options ahead of what promises to be a gruelling season.

They have already signed Hugo Ekitike from Reims but with Angel Di Maria having departed on a free transfer and Mauro Icardi edging towards an exit, they are looking to add another versatile forward to their ranks.

PSG had originally hoped to sign Robert Lewandowski this summer – but he opted to join Barcelona instead – and Rashford would represent a very different profile of striker.

Manager Christophe Galtier has made no secret of his desire to sign a new forward before the window closes and, at a press conference on Thursday, confirmed that the club are working to bolster their attack.

‘Yes, we would like to bring in another forward. We have a very busy schedule, so we would like to bring someone in,’ the French coach said ahead of Saturday’s Ligue 1 clash against Montpellier.
