European Champions Real Madrid have ruled out the possibility of signing Liverpool star man Mohamed Salah this summer, according to Spanish outlet Defensa Central.

After missing out on Kylian Mbappe, in a deal that was deemed one of the biggest transfer sagas’ of all time, Real Madrid have been searching for a new superstar signing to lead the line at the Bernabeu.

The La Liga champions, who love a marquee transfer, are in no desperate need of an attacker with the likes of Vinicius Jr and Benzema among their ranks, but would not be opposed to bringing in a new Galactico.

Links with Salah stemmed from the potential departure of Marco Asensio, who’s even recently been linked with a move to Merseyside.

While Madrid were not planning on bringing in another attacker, the Asensio saga has left higher-ups at Madrid pondering potential replacements for the Spanish international.

But according to reports, it will not be Mo Salah who joins the white side of Madrid, as the Egyptian looks set to see out the remaining year on his contract.

Salah’s not so distant future is still up in the air after reports of contract talks at Anfield stalling, due to high wage demands.

While it is unlikely that Liverpool would break their wage structure by such a drastic amount, it would be a shock to both the club and the fans to see Salah leave.

Salah has spent 5 years at the club, and in that time has helped Liverpool on their way to becoming Premier League and Champions League winners as well earning some of the most prestigious, personal accolades, such as two PFA player of the year awards and three golden boots.

Should Salah leave Merseyside, his presence would not only be missed by the Kop, but the Premier League as well.
