Rohr praises Iwobi, Simon’s commitment to Super Eagles

Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has commended Alex Iwobi and Moses Simon for their dedication to the national team, saying both players deserve greater recognition for their consistent service to Nigeria.

Iwobi and Simon reached notable milestones during Nigeria’s international friendly against Portugal, with the Fulham midfielder making his 100th appearance for the Super Eagles, while Simon earned his 99th cap.

Rohr, now head coach of the Benin Republic, described the duo as exemplary professionals who have remained committed to national duty throughout their careers.

The German tactician said both players have consistently made themselves available for selection and willingly adapted to different roles whenever required by the team.

According to him, their longevity, professionalism and commitment have contributed significantly to the growth and stability of the Super Eagles over the years.

He congratulated both players on their achievements and expressed hope that they would continue to contribute to Nigeria’s success in the years ahead.

The friendly against Portugal served as part of Nigeria’s preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
