England captain Harry Kane is drawing inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo’s longevity as he prepares for his 100th cap against Finland in the Nations League at Wembley today.
The 31-year-old Bayern Munich striker, who has scored 66 goals in 99 international appearances since his debut in 2015, will become the 10th English player to reach the milestone. Kane mentioned Ronaldo’s recent achievement of scoring his 901st career goal as motivation.

“I feel in peak condition, both physically and mentally,” Kane said. “Seeing Ronaldo compete at 39 inspires me to play for as long as possible. I love representing England and am determined to keep improving.”
The FA will honor Kane with a special pre-match ceremony, including the presentation of a gold cap. Kane expressed his pride and excitement for the occasion, which he plans to cherish with his family.
England interim manager Lee Carsley, who has also managed the Under-21s, will oversee two senior matches this month as the search for a permanent successor to Gareth Southgate continues.
