Sanwo-Olu lauds organizers of Lagos Women Run

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed pride in the success of the Lagos Women Run (LWR), especially as the 9th edition of the event concluded with a growing number of participants.

The race, which celebrates women’s empowerment and fitness, has grown significantly, attracting international participants and showcasing Lagos’ potential as a tourism hub.

At the event’s finish line, Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, emphasized the Governor’s commitment to women’s wellness and empowerment.

With participation from women from across the country and abroad, Fatodu assured the continued support of the state government for future editions, including plans to make the 10th edition an even bigger celebration of women’s achievements.

Joy Abiye David emerged the winner of the 9th edition, finishing the race in 38:35:21, followed by Liliane Nguesta from Cameroon and Charity Ogofure in third place.
