Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has sworn in 14 new political appointees, warning that their positions are for service, not personal enrichment.
Speaking at the inauguration held at the Lighthouse in Awka, Soludo said the appointments were part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and broaden service delivery across key sectors.
“The positions are not an opportunity to come and chop, but a call to selfless service, sacrifice and dedication to the people of the state.
“Among over nine million residents of Anambra, you were carefully vetted and selected to serve the collective interest of the people.
“This is not an appointment to come and chop, as the general mentality goes. You are being called to serve.

“There will be sacrifices, risks and sleepless nights, because I will call you at midnight to get the job done,” he said.
He also urged them to be guided by the oath of office and allegiance, stressing that it should serve as a compass for their conduct in office and charged them to collaborate, coordinate and deliver value in line with his administration’s agenda.
Those sworn in include Mrs Chiamaka Nnake as Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Ngozi Iwouno as Head of Service and Mr Joachim Anetoh as Principal Secretary to the Governor.
Others are Dr Ben Nwankwo, Chief of Staff to the governor; Prof. Frank-Collins Okafor, Chief of Protocol; Mr Tobechukwu Nweke (SAN), Attorney-General. Mr Christian Aburime as Chief Press Secretary; Dr Vincent Okechi as Deputy Chief of Staff and Ms Ngozi Okoye as Deputy Chief of Protocol.
The rest are Dr Godwin Nnadozie as Special Adviser on Medicals and Pharmaceuticals, Mrs Chinwe Okoli -Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation as well as Chief Executive Officer of the Solution Innovation District, Professor Ebuka Nwankwo – Special Adviser on Special Projects and Director, Project Evaluation and Monitoring, and Prince Ken Emeakayi as Special Adviser on Community Security.
