Southampton have reportedly ‘completed a deal’ to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu permanently for a fee that could rise to £15m.
The 20-year-old signed for Man City for around £420,000 in 2018 from Shamrock Rovers.
Bazunu made a name for himself during impressive loan spells in League One at Rochdale and Portsmouth. He won the latter’s Player of the Year award at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

The youngster made his senior debut for the Republic of Ireland last year and he has now been capped ten times for his country.
Southampton have shown an interest in the Man City player of late. The Athletic are reporting that the Saints have now ‘completed a deal’ for the goalkeeper.
An initial fee of £12m is being paid for the shot-stopper and this could rise to £15m with add-ons. It is understood that a buy-back clause is included in the deal.
Bazunu is coming in as Fraser Forster’s replacement. The veteran has joined Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer.
Elsewhere, Manchester City are set to make their opening bid for Leeds star Kalvin Phillips.
The England international has been linked with a move away from Elland Road for some time, with Manchester United also thought to be interested.
The Athletic report that while he ‘would never have countenanced an approach from Man Utd, his hometown club’s bitterest rivals, City would be a different proposition’.
Sources from both clubs believe an offer for Phillips is imminent, with Pep Guardiola’s side visualising a £45-£50m move.
They’re said to be confident that Phillips would push for the Leeds exit once he’s aware an offer is on the table.
The 26-year-old has been tracked by City for several months, ever since Fernandinho announced his desire to leave the club this summer, as Guardiola wants to sign competition for Rodri in central midfield.
