Vice president of SPOCS Sports Consultants, Helge Payer has reiterated the agency’s commitment to ensuring that they find the best talented young footballers from Africa.
Payer made this known in a chat with the media after their recently concluded U19 Scouting Tournament at Ikenne, Remo in Ogun State, Nigeria.
The former National team goalkeeper from Austria, said SPOC will stop at nothing to unearth the best talents from the continent.
“Sascha Empacher and I have been working since the past 20 years developing players with our aim here in Africa to change lives.
“We will pick the best players, this is why we are here, this is why we’re scouts. This is why we’re scouting the whole continent, everywhere in 12 different countries in the last month and our aim is to find the best players for Europe.
“There are talents in other countries but the quality and quality in Nigeria is of the highest level.
He praised the continent’s goalkeepers saying that Onana’s move to Man United is a good omen and an encouragement for the future of African goalkeepers.
“That Onana moved to Manchester united is good for the continent and their goalkeepers.
“They were some good keepers at the SPOCS tournament but you know to be a good keeper requires having a very good goalkeeper’s trainer.
“As a former player myself I believe much in mentoring and coaching”, he concluded.
