Super Eagles coach Peseiro mums on 10-month unpaid salary

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has refused to speak on the alleged 10-month unpaid salary by his employer, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Portuguese tactician on Thursday during the presser ahead of Friday’s Nigeria versus Guinea Bissau game said issue surrounding his salary not for public but between him and his employer.

“The situation about my salary is between me and the NFF. I can’t share nothing on it.”

“I can share the information with my wife because she is my wife and there is no problem about that.” He said jokingly.

“It’s not all about the money. All we need now is to focus on Guinea match on Friday because we are one step away from qualifying.” He concluded.

“It’s unfortunate that the NFF is owing Peseiro ten months salary. Recall that, one of the reasons former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorounmu left his position was because he has not been paid for months also.”

The salary allegedly owed the Portuguese is $700,000 in total. The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach was appointed in May 2022 on a monthly pay of $70,000.

Group A table toppers, Nigeria are hosting Guinea Bissau in the first leg of the 2023 African Nations Cup qualifier on Friday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja. The second leg will hold next Monday, 27th March in Bissau.
