Nigeria defender, Shehu Abdullahi, has penned an emotional farewell message after announcing his departure from Cypriot club, Omonia Nicosia.
Abdullahi announced his departure on Friday with his contract set to expire at the end of this month.
The 29-year-old penned a two year deal with the club in 2020 after severing ties with Turkish club, Bursaspor.
Abdullahi won the Cypriot title during his first season at the club and added the Cypriot Cup and Super Cup last season.
“I am honoured to play for Omonia, in two years we have been able to create history. For decades titles were missing in Omonia & I am glad in two years, we won three titles & restored the pedigree of the club,” Abdullahi wrote on his Twitter handle.
“This is not a goodbye message, but to say we will see in the future.
“I appreciate the management, coaches, backroom staff, and my teammates for the amazing memories we shared.
“To Omonia fans, I appreciate your support and love, I had amazing memories.
“Wishing Omonia success in future endeavours. ”
Abdullahi made 50 league appearances for the club without a goal to his name.
