Super Eagles Technical Adviser fumes over Watford striker Dennis late arrival

Nigeria football chiefs are unhappy with Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis arriving late for international duty.

Dennis, 24, linked up with the national side just hours before this afternoon’s deadline.

Super Eagles manager Augustine Eguavoen was fuming after not hearing from Dennis while his two Watford team-mates William Troost-Ekong and Oghenekaro Etebo arrived on time.

Nigeria’s camp began on Monday ahead of their World Cup qualifying first-leg clash with Ghana this Friday in Kumasi.

Before Dennis finally arrived, an unnamed member of the coaching staff said: “We don’t know where he is and it’s not a nice way to make up for his acts before the Africa Cup of Nations.

Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey also arrived late, but had played games for their clubs at the weekend, unlike Dennis.

The coach added: “It’s different. Dennis last played a game on the 13th of March which is nine days ago.

“He is returning to the team and he has a lot of image rebuilding to do. He should have been here. We will wait until this evening to make a decision.”
