Terem Moffi rejects Marseille, wants Nice move

Date:

Nigeria forward Terem Moffi has reportedly refused the chance to join fellow Ligue 1 side, Marseille from Lorient.

Marseille’s offer of a player-plus-cash was accepted by Lorient but Moffi has refused to leave his club for Abedi Pele’s former club.

Even the physical presence of a Marseille chief, Pablo Longoria was not enough to convince Moffi to join.

The 23 year old is only interested in joining OGC Nice who are reportedly closing in on a deal.

Nice have already failed with three offers for the Nigerian but are now preparing a fourth bid to sign the striker that they have coveted for almost the entire transfer window.

The Nigerain for the past weeks has had his heart set on a move to Nice and therefore politely refused Marseille’s approach. He is now awaiting the outcome of the negotiations between Nice and Lorient.

Moffi has scored 12 goals in 18 appearances for Lorient this term to bring his total haul for the club across all competitions to 34 in 87 games.
