Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah has announced that the 2024/2025 season will be his final one with the club, revealing that there have been no contract discussions between him and Liverpool.
As reported by Sky Sports, Salah made this statement on the sidelines following Liverpoolโs 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
โAs you know, itโs my last year at the club. I want to enjoy it and I donโt want to think about it. I feel like Iโm free to play football and then weโll see what happens next year,โ he said.
However, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has predicted Salah might stay on.
โI would be shocked if Salah isnโt playing for Liverpool next season,โ said Carragher.
Salah set up Luis Diazโs double and then scored a third to silence Old Trafford on Super Sunday, before appearing to confirm his Liverpool exit would be at the end of this season when interviewed post-match.
He continued, โComing into the game, I said it could be the last time (I play here with Liverpool).
โNo one at the club has spoken to me about contracts, so Iโm just like, โOK, Iโm playing my last seasonโ and see what happens at the end of the season.
โItโs not up to me, but nobodyโs talked to me from the club. We will see.โ
Salah, whose contract expires next summer, has been at Anfield since the summer of 2017, when he was signed from Roma for a then-club-record fee.
