Three-East African nations to host 2025 CHAN 

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe has announced that the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) will now take place from February 1 to 28, 2025, in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

According to the CAF President, the first round of Qualifiers will be played on the weekend of 25-27 October 2024.

The seventh edition of the competition- 2022 African Nations Championship was hosted by Algeria between January 13th   and February 4th  in 2023 with Senegal as champions while Algeria came second with Madagascar and Niger Republic finishing third and fourth respectively.

Nigeria’s CHAN Eagles were first  runners up in the 2018 edition held in Rabat, Morocco but have failed to qualify for the last two editions. They were beaten by Togo in the 2020 edition’s qualifiers 4-3 on aggregate before Ghana’s Black Stars proved to be Nigeria’s stumbling block in the 2022 qualifiers.
